Australian artist Clare O’Hara is continually inspired by the daily visits of kookaburras to her Lockyer Street home studio — where this much-loved visitor earned the name ‘Lucky’, thanks to being fed and adored most evenings. Their bold personalities and unmistakable laughter — often heard from afar — bring a sense of joy and connection to the natural world, captured beautifully in this piece.

An iconic Australian native, the kookaburra is celebrated here through soft washes and expressive detail, bringing Lucky to life with warmth and character. Accented with Gold Gilding making the artwork shimmer in the light.
