LOVEBIRDS KADE AND CLARE
The Lovebirds – Kade and Clare
My beautiful Mum would often send me pictures she thought I’d love. This was the last image she posted to me before she passed away in September 2025 — tucked inside a gorgeous engagement card. She said the picture reminded her of Kade and me and suggested it would make a beautiful painting.Ta da… so I painted it. 🎨
I actually finished this artwork before Mum went to heaven, though sadly, she never got to see it. It holds such deep emotional meaning for me. When a client recently asked if I had any Kookaburra artworks available, I told them I’d just finished a pair but was saving them for my next exhibition. Once they saw a photo, they said — “Consider it sold.” Although the original has now sold, this piece means so much to me that I’ve decided to release it as a limited edition print.
It’s a piece made with love — inspired by my beautiful Mum’s picture, painted soon after Kade and I announced our engagement. There’s something comforting in knowing that Mum adored Kade and recognised the size of his heart. I named this piece ‘The Lovebirds – Kade and Clare’. I was saving it for my LOVE exhibition, which has now been postponed to 2026.
Forever grateful for the love and inspiration behind this one. 🤍
