DRIFT
(This artwork is donated to the Joey's Mothers Day luncheon 2026 with all proceeds donated to the 'Boys from the Bush' - St Jospeh's College Hunters Hill.)
There are seasons in life where you don’t feel anchored — where you 'drift.' Motherhood. is often a quiet drift — a giving of self, a soft reshaping of identity, moments where direction blurs beneath the needs of others. Yet within that drift lies something powerful.
This piece reflects the ebb and flow of a mother’s journey — the messy, beautiful layers of life. The drips and textured passages speak to the harder days, the unseen sacrifices, while soft peach tones hold the warmth, love and tenderness that define it all. My signature gold gilding shimmers throughout, capturing life’s highlights — those fleeting, magical moments that give everything meaning.
A tribute to the mothers who give, grow, and find themselves again within it all.
A special tribute to my own Mum Maree, who sadly passed last year. This is my first Mother’s Day without her, and I feel that absence deeply. But alongside it sits immense gratitude — for her endless love, her gentle but constant encouragement to follow what I love, and for shaping me into the woman and mother I am today.
